Don Jenkins will always be someone who I liked – he respected and inspired me, on land and on his nitro boat.

Now that I am battling advanced breast cancer, I think of the inspiration that Don Jenkins has given me as I'm sure he has inspired others.

All my best to Don and the other anglers!

This fish must have been starving to bite Kerry Kreup's bait. Congratulations Kerry, it couldn't happen to a better guy, even though you are from Kansas.

Congrats to Brad Moser, and I hope you and everyone made it home safely. A big thanks to BassFan (Al, Randy and Sandy) for an awesome tourney, even with the bad weather. And thanks to all the sponsors: BassFan, Plano, Berkley, Minn Kota, Humminbird, and everyone else who made this tourney possible. Hopefully I'll get another opportunity to qualify and get to fish against these guys again.

I think this trail would be a good addition to the BassFan Army: USA Bassin (USABassin.com). It's a pretty good team trail.

Re: Secret Lures Chubby frog – I've personally tried this frog and it's awesome. It's by far the best frog on the market today. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a big bass crushing a frog.

I'm looking for the Show Me boys to again be prominent in this year's WWC. Weise and Heartland's Combs should pose a real threat this year.

I operate the Multiple Sclerosis Bass Circuit (MSBC) out of La Crosse, Wis. This tournament series has been around for 21 years. I took over in 2003 and have run the circuit under the name of MSBC. We operate with all volunteers and raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Last year Team MSBC donated $16,432 at the local MS Walk and were honored as the No. 1 corporate fundraising team in Wisconsin.

In 2007 we ran six tournaments. Our four qualifying tournaments averaged 61 boats. We had 205 paid members, many of which are already BassFan Army members. In 2008 we will be running eight tournaments.

I'm interested in getting MSBC sanctioned for the Weekend Warrior Championship. Thank you for your consideration.

I think Bass Angler's United would be a great addition to your eligible tournaments. We represent mostly Michigan anglers that spread from the west side to the east side – not just Erie and St. Clair. The website is BassAnglersUnited.com.

Also, I think BBT Bass Shore Line Bass Tour should be added to give Michigan a strong base in the BassFanArmy. Thanks.

John Hennecke of Sacramento, CA writes:
I think you should do a piece on why BASS has decided to ignore the West. When they released the 2008 Elite Series schedule, I contacted them about the lack of a "Western swing" and was told. with so many locations, it wasn't possible to go to the same places every year. I'd understand that, except at least four of the lakes on this year's schedule were fished last year, and even the ones that changed are in many of the same states as fished in previous years.

There are no Opens in the West, and Oklahoma's the closest the Weekend Series comes to the West. There are many fine anglers who come from the West Coast and many quality fisheries. I've recently canceled my membership with BASS and encouraged everyone who I fish with to do the same. I'll continue to support the fishermen but not the organization.

The NBAA is getting big now with Bass Pro and Tracker/Nitro as main sponsors. Please check the NBAA.com site for tons of info – 3,000 anglers and a lot of fun. My wife and I made it to championships that will be held on the Ohio River May 15-17. Check us out. She just bought me a new Ranger Z520 for the 71 events I'll be doing in 2008.

We're very excited about the WFN Tour in 2008. Although there are several outstanding tournament trails in Canada, the WFN Tour fills a void for the pro/am format we've not had since the CFT folded.

I encourage our American friends to come and see what fishing a Canadian series can offer. I guarantee the competition will be fantastic.

Dominick Izzo's a great man. He helped save my life. Every thing he said is his life. I'm grateful he's dedicated to guys like me, only to see us do better and become greater men. When I'd been clean for a year he gave a fishing rod. I really can't wait to go fishing with him and learn more about living life in harmony with nature. Thanks Izzo.

What a beautiful article. Dominick's like a brother to me, so it's nice to see the truth – the real truth. And Joe, wow, take some credit here. You're also a vision of hope to young and old fisherman. May god bless both of you on a job well done. May your bass always be fat.

Re: Dominick Izzo – I want to thank you folks for highlighting such a unique, driven individual. I've been friends with Muddy for 3 years now and have seen him work his magic. He's truly an inspirational individual and in 3 short years, I feel like he's my older brother.

We at BassResource plan to assist Dominick in any way he needs to help his program far into the future. Thanks for assisting in this goal.

Dominick Izzo is my cousin and I'm proud to be his cousin. He's come a long way. I grew up with him then lost contact, and now I'm so glad I'm back in contact with him. He was fun to be with when we were kids, and after so many years and what he's been through, he still has that great sense of humor.

Did it ever strike some of these guys that the "quick" way to the Elites may not be the best way? I'm pretty happy BASS is doing away with the Wildcard. I don't think a token qualification to a wildcard event is going to put the best 110 Anglers out there. There's no need to force the issue. When the time comes for these 19- to 22-year-olds to be Elite, level it'll come. Then again, I guess it's their reward for "toiling" in the junior levels for "years."
